Making Money on the Internet

Let's face it, nearly every one of us would like to be financially independent: no debt, a lovely house, nice car and upscale lifestyle. The problem is few of us even know where to start. There are really only two roads to financial independence, earn more or spend less. They're not mutually exclusive. It's possible to earn more and spend less. However in this case we'll focus on earning more through making money on the Internet.

One option of course is to get an additional job. There are lots of part time opportunities available, however there is an upside to how much you can earn. It depends on how many hours you work and your hourly pay. Getting to and from the work place uses valuable time that you don't get paid for. And there will be additional expenses as well. Wardrobe, transportation expenses and wear and tear on your car plus perhaps an increase in auto insurance for the extra mileage you're driving.

A sales position that pays commissions allows you to earn more than if you were just paid by the hour. It takes time to build up a clientele and make sales. It may take a month or so before you see any results from all your hard work. You only get paid if you make a sale.

Making money on the Internet at home cuts down on expenses, such as commuting and child care, but you may still be limited by how much you can earn by how much time you can spend on the job.

The Internet can seem to be a scary place with all the get rich schemes and make thousands of dollars overnight scams. There are real opportunities to making money on the Internet. They generally fall into five categories

1. Sell your services such as freelance writing, graphics design, research, virtual assistance.

2. Sell other people's products for a commission

3. Sell your own product, either digital or real.

4. Sell advertising on your blogs and websites.

There are lots of variations to these 4 methods. Making money on the Internet isn't difficult but it does take time, work, and some resources. The upside is that it is possible to put effort into a website, have it start earning money, and then go onto other projects. With minor promotion that website produces a passive income month after month without much effort on your part.
